Since 1918, Contadina has been on a mission to perfect canned tomatoes. It’s that pursuit that led Contadina’s founding family to move their little company across the country to find better soil and a better tomato climate.
A hundred years later, Contadina is still perfecting canned tomatoes.
That’s why our tomatoes are always Non-GMO and packed in Non-BPA cans. It’s why we peel them using steam instead of lye. It’s also why our diced, whole, crushed and pureed tomatoes are made using only fresh Roma tomatoes harvested and canned in the same day. There are easier ways to do it. Many canned tomato products are made by adding water to bulk tomato concentrate, which is both economical and flexible. But we know that packing tomatoes fresh is the best way to preserve vibrant, vine-ripened flavor.
