Italian Style Meatloaf
Enjoy this Italian twist to an American favorite comfort food.
2 lb. lean ground beef or turkey
1 cup Contadina® Italian Style Bread Crumbs
1 can (8 oz.) Contadina® Tomato Sauce
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
1 egg
1 tsp. dried basil
Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine meat, bread crumbs, 3/4 cup tomato sauce, onion, green pepper, egg and basil in a large bowl. Season with salt and black pepper, if desired. Mix well.
Press into a 9x5-inch loaf pan. Bake 45 minutes; drain off fat.
Spread remaining tomato sauce over meat loaf. Bake 10 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before slicing.
